Types of Classes

There are three types of classes on Siyavula:

Grade groups: under Learners Register at Your School are automatic allocations of learners based on their grade as indicated on their profile. Learners get linked in the grade groups automatically when they select the school name, grade, and subject on their profile.

Real Classes: also known as individual classes. In these classes, are usually used to link learners based on how they attend. Only teachers with school admin permissions on a premium package can create real classes.

Supplementary classes: are extra classes that teachers can use for remedial or extra support purposes. It allows teachers to assign work to a selection of learner for special support purposes. All teachers with premium package can create supplementary classes.

How to create a Supplementary Class as a teacher

1. On your teacher dashboard click on Create Class

2. Give you class a unique name
3. select the subject and grade
4. In put the class size
5. Ensure that the class type selected is supplementary
6. Remember to Save Changes

Linking learner's in the supplementary class

After creating you class return to your teacher dashboard. You will see the class that you have created. It will be labelled as Supplementary so that you can easily identify it.
