Mathematics Summary Assessment per chapter



The summary assessments allow learners to master each chapter of the curriculum that has been covered in class by interleaving practice in an end-of-chapter quiz. The assessments constitute of a set of 10 to 25 questions which are aligned to CAPS assessment standard breakdown, and teachers can assess their learners' knowledge and skills of each of the topics they teach throughout the year. These readily available assessments can be accessed by codes that teachers can share with the learners.


Finding the Summary Assessment codes


There are two ways to find the codes:

Teachers can print out Mastery tracking sheet for their learners to stick into their workbooks or files. Learners can record their login details and keep track of their progress in chapters.

Please note that these documents are NOT intended to be printed and administered as a paper assessment. They are merely to provide teachers with an easy way of seeing the questions in the assessment.



How learners can access the assessment


  • Learners need to log in to their Siyavula account. Instructions can be found here.
  • Scroll down to Jump to content
  • Type in the assessment code found on the summary assessment sheet or mastery tracking sheet
  • Click on Go
    assessment_code


  • The assessment will appear.
  • It will indicate on the top right how many questions are in the assessment.



  • A learner can start answering the questions. Answers will be marked automatically and feedback will be given immediately in a form of a detailed solution.



  • A learner can track the progress of the questions on the top right.



  • Once the learner has completed the assessment, they can click on view your report to see their results. They can also decide to Try the assignment again.
