HeadSTARt Terms and Conditions
Rules for the HeadSTARt campaign
General rules
The campaign will start on Monday 12 February 2024, and end on Thursday 14 March 2024.
Learners and teachers will have to opt in to HeadSTARt, to be eligible for prizes.
If a learner has already opted in to be part of our national leaderboards, they will automatically be opted in to HeadSTARt.
The competition will reward both Maths and Science practice.
To be eligible for a prize, learners must be registered in their correct grade.
Learners must be at school in Grades 8 - 12, to be eligible to enter HeadSTARt.
To be eligible for a prize, a learner’s registered school, grade and contact details must be up-to-date and correct.
If a learner can’t be reached using the contact details provided, we will attempt to contact the school. If unsuccessful, the learner will forfeit the prize.
Voucher prizes will be delivered directly to winners via their email or mobile phone number.
Physical prizes will be delivered directly to the school.
Siyavula will not liaise or communicate with parents under any circumstances, with regard to learner prizes.
Weekly draw for learners
Any high school Mathematics or Physical Sciences learner at a school in South Africa is eligible to enter.
To be eligible for a prize, learners must be in their correct grade.
For the duration of the campaign, any learner who achieves their weekly goal, for one or more subjects, set using the goals widget on Siyavula will be entered into the weekly draw for that week. Prizewinners will be announced the following Monday.
There will be a weekly prize draw for prizes each Monday for the duration of the campaign.
Learners will receive a number of entries into the weekly draw based on the goal level they achieve within one week for each subject as detailed in the table below:
Learners will be informed if they have won a prize via their inbox on the Siyavula website, and via email or sms, based on the details provided when registering.
Prizes will be awarded via an automated, randomised draw.
Learners have until 15 April 2024 to claim their weekly draw prize. Any prizes not claimed by this date will be forfeited.
Siyavula reserves the right not to award a prize each week.
HeadSTARt Superstar Draw
As learners achieve their weekly goals, they will also earn entries into the HeadSTARt SuperStar Draw, due to take place once the campaign is complete.
The number of entries into the SuperStar draw is explained in the table below:
The goals achieved do not have to be achieved in consecutive weeks
The goals do not have to be in the same subject
Learners will be informed if they have won a prize via their inbox on the Siyavula website, and via email or sms, based on the details provided when registering.
Prizes will be awarded via an automated, randomised draw.
Learners have until 15 April 2024 to claim their prize.
Any weekly draw or SuperStar Draw prizes not claimed by this date will be forfeited.
