The #1MillionMaths rules

• The campaign will start on Monday, 1 September 2025, and end on Tuesday, 30 September 2025.
• Learners and teachers will have to opt in to the #1MillionMaths campaign to be eligible for prizes.
• If a learner has already opted in to be part of our national leaderboards, they will automatically be opted in to #1MillionMaths.
• The campaign will reward both Maths and Science practice.
• Learners must be at a South African school in Grades 8 - 12 to be eligible to enter #1MillionMaths.
• To be eligible for a prize, a learner/teacher’s registered school, grade, and contact details must be up-to-date and correct on their Siyavula profile.
• If a learner can’t be reached using the provided contact details, we will attempt to contact the school. If unsuccessful, the learner will forfeit the prize.
• Daily voucher prizes will be delivered directly to winners via WhatsApp using the mobile number provided in their profile.
• Physical prizes will be delivered directly to the winning learner’s school, using the physical address provided by the winner.
• Siyavula will liaise directly with the winning learner, or alternatively with the winning learner’s school. Correspondence with parents/guardians with regard to prizes will not be entered into.

• Any high school Mathematics or Physical Sciences learner in South Africa is eligible to enter.
• To be eligible for a daily prize, a learner's Siyavula profile must reflect their correct grade and school.
• During September, any learner who earns a mastery star on Siyavula will be entered into the daily draw for that day.
• Learners will receive one entry into the daily draw for each star earned in a day (e.g. if a learner earns three stars in a day, they will receive three entries into the daily draw for that day).
• Learners who have already achieved 100% mastery on Siyavula will receive one entry for every 10 questions completed in a day (e.g. if they complete 20 questions in a day, they will receive two entries into the daily draw).
• The 10 questions must be answered in a single subject (i.e. 5 questions in maths and 5 in science do not equate to an entry).
• Prize winners will be randomly drawn and announced the following day.
• There will be a daily draw for prizes each day of September.
• Winners’ names, schools, and grades will be displayed on the #1MillionMaths info page
• Learners will be informed if they have won a prize via a notification/inbox message on the Siyavula website.
• It is the responsibility of the learner to check their Siyavula inbox regularly for any messages/notifications relating to being a daily draw winner.
• Learners need to complete the response form provided via their Siyavula inbox by confirming their registration details and providing their correct contact details
• Prize vouchers will be sent to the contact details provided in the form within five days.
• Siyavula cannot be held responsible for any errors in the contact details provided by winners.
• Prizes will be sent to winning learners on Tuesdays and Fridays during the campaign.
• Learners have until 31 October to claim their prize. Any prizes not claimed by this date will be forfeited.
• Siyavula reserves the right not to award a prize on any given day.

• At the end of the campaign, prizes will be awarded to the top grades and schools for Mathematics (Grades 8 - 12) and Physical Sciences (Grades 10 - 12).
• The grade winners will be those whose learners have earned the greatest number of atoms during September.
• School winners will be those schools whose Mathematics or Physical Sciences departments earn the highest number of atoms during September.
• Teachers may choose to opt in specific grades, an entire department, or both.
• Winning schools will be contacted via email or WhatsApp messaging using the contact details of the teacher who opted them into the campaign.
• The school representative will need to submit the school's prize choice within two weeks of being contacted by Siyavula, to give the team time to procure the prize choice.
• A school has until 17 October to claim their prize. Any prizes not claimed by this date will be forfeited.
• Siyavula reserves the right not to award a school or grade prize.

• Any learner who is in the Platinum League leaderboard or Gold League leaderboard by midnight on 26 September 2025 will be invited to join their respective final showdown.
• Learners in the Platinum League and Gold League will compete against other learners within their respective leagues in the final showdown.
• Learners must be on the leaderboard for their correct grade, to take part in the final showdown.
• These learners will be notified on 26 September 2025 through an inbox message/notification on www.siyavula.com, and invited to join the final showdown.
• It is the responsibility of the learner to check their Siyavula inbox for any messages/notifications relating to being selected to participate in the final showdown.
• The final showdowns will take the form of a Siyavula assignment.
• Showdown participants will be sent a notification on the Siyavula website once the assignments are open and ready to be completed.
• Opening times and dates for the final showdown will also be communicated on our social channels (Facebook, X formely known as Twitter, and Instagram).
• It is the learner's responsibility to check their Siyavula inbox and our social channels during this time for any messages/notifications relating to participating in the showdown.
• Learners will have multiple opportunities to complete the assignment on 29 and 30 September 2025.
• It will remain the learner’s responsibility to ensure that their Siyavula login details are correct so that they can join their final showdown timeously.
• Learners are required to complete as much of the assignment as possible within the time limit set.
• If a learner completes the assignment more than once, their best attempt will count.
• A prize will be awarded to the top three learners in the Platinum League showdown, for their grade and subject (24 prizes: three per subject/grade combination).
• A prize will also be awarded to the top three learners in the Gold League showdown, for their grade and subject (24 prizes: three per subject/grade combination).
• Winners will be announced and displayed on the #1MillionMaths info page by 3 October 2025.
• Learners will be informed if they have won a final prize via notification/inbox message on the Siyavula website.
• Learners will be contacted using their profile details and asked to confirm their Siyavula registration and contact details and provide their school’s physical address for prize delivery
• Learners have until 31 October to claim their prize. Any prizes not claimed by this date will be forfeited.
• Siyavula reserves the right not to award a learner prize for a grade or subject.
