Siyavula School Admin permissions

Siyavula has improved your self-service permissions with the school admin role that allows you to:

• Verify and un-verify the teachers at the school
• Configure the teacher accounts that have access to the paid package whether Premium or Explorer
• For premium, create own classes, and link configured teachers
• For premium, link teachers in multiple classes at a go
• Manage classes by linking, unlinking and transferring learners

A teacher with School Admin permissions can log in to their Siyavula Account and follow these steps:

1. How to verify a teacher

Once you have logged on to your account:

• Click on My Schools on the navigation
• Click on the **name of your school ** when it appears

• Click on **Teacher search **

• Search the name of the teacher under Name.
• Select the teacher by clicking on the tick box
• Click on Verify teachers at the top

Once the teachers are verified, school admins can configure teachers into their applicable premium packages

2. How to configure teachers

Once you have logged in to your School Dashboard:

• Click on Package Management on the top right.

• Click on Configure teachers for either Mathematics or Physical Sciences

• Search for the name of the teacher under Name (Siyavula ID)
• Select the teacher by clicking on the tick box. You can select multiple teachers at the same time.
• Click on Link teacher

• Click on Add teachers.

• You can link more teachers by clicking on Link teacher at the bottom.
• You can also select and unlink the teacher from the package by clicking on Unlink teachers.

3. How to create Siyavula premium classes

• Click on **Create Class **under Classes

To create a class:

1. Type in the name of the class under name. For example, Grade 8E1 Maths
2. Select the subject. That is, either Mathematics or Physical Sciences
3. Select the grade. From grade 8 to 12 for Mathematics and grade 10 to 12 for Physical Sciences.
4. Type in the class. This is the number of learners that are supposed to be in that class.
5. Select the class type. This is where you choose to create a Real or Supplementary class.
6. Type and select the name of the teacher you wish to link to the class.
7. Lastly, click on create class.

4. How to link teachers to their classes

If you missed the step above of linking a teacher as you create the class, you have two more options:

Once you have logged in to your School Dashboard:

• Click on Admin
• Select Manage Class

• Click on Link teacher

You can link a teacher who already has an account by:

1. Siyavula ID - found on the teacher’s profile page.
2. Email address - associated with the teacher’s profile.
3. Mobile number - associated with the teacher’s profile.
4. Searching them from the school list.

If you are linking a teacher using Siyavula ID, Email or Mobile number, you have to:

1. Select the option, for example Mobile Number
2. Type in the Mobile Number
3. Click on Link teacher

• Lastly, click on Confirm.

If you are linking teachers by searching for them on the School list:

1. Click on School list
2. Search for the name of the teacher and tick the box ( you can select multiple teachers from the school list and link them at the same time).

3. Click on These are all active teachers for the class.
4. Click on Link teacher, then click on Confirm

5. Linking learners in the classes

There are two options:

• Get learners to redeem the access code. This is a quick way.
• Teachers or school admin can link using the school list.

5.1 Getting learners to redeem the access code

First, find the list of all access codes on the link at the top of your screen of your school dashboard page.

5.2 Linking learners manually per class
