How to start the year with Siyavula
Once your learners are signed up and ready to practise, there are three things you can do at the beginning of the year to get your learners on track from the start.
Assess where your learners are in terms of their skill and knowledge levels by giving them a baseline assessment at the start of the school year. You can either:
Set your own baseline assessment by creating an assignment; or
Use one of Siyavula's pre-created baseline assessments: available for Grade 8 - 10 learners (Mathematics)
Siyavula runs an annual #HeadSTARt campaign for learners at the beginning of each year. This campaign is designed to encourage learners to set and reach a practice goal each week. Regular and sustained practice is essential to do well in maths and science, and setting a weekly goal is a good habit to instil in your learners.
Parents can create their own Siyavula account, and link it to their child's account. This will allow them to see how their child is practising, what progress they are making, and whether or not they are completing the work that you set.
